CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 TRAVEL RESOURCES
The Coronavirus pandemic is having a significant impact on travel. I’m putting my undergraduate degree in Medical Microbiology to use and sharing a list of reliable resources that are worth checking out.
The World Health Organisation is leading the international response to the outbreak and it has a specific Coronavirus information page.
If you are travelling to the Republic of Ireland, the Health Service Executive (HSE) is the public health service and is leading the response to the virus. Here is the HSE’s Coronavirus advice. The Irish Government’s plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions and re-open businesses can be found on this link.
Currently, all arrivals, apart from arrivals from specific countries (The Green List) and Northern Ireland, must restrict their movements for 14 days. All arrivals into the Republic of Ireland must also complete a Passenger Locator Form. These rules apply to all nationalities. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has a Coronavirus COVID-19 travel advice page outlining the Green List of countries.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US is a leading public health organisation and has an excellent general information page on Coronavirus COVID-19 including a travel section for US citizens.
The US State Department also has a COVID-19 travel advice page for US citizens.
For British citizens, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has a Coronavirus travel advice page.
For international travellers, the Tripadvisor COVID-19 page has a number of resources which will be useful.
The John Hopkins School of Engineering in the US has compiled an interactive map of global Coronavirus COVID-19 cases. The ECDC has more detailed metrics for the EU/EEA/UK region.
